As if we weren’t already counting down the days until Lady Gaga’s American Horror Story: Hotel debut, the singer gave us a taste of all the glamorous moments to come while attending the show’s Los Angeles premiere.
Paying a nod to her seductive character, The Countess, the star made a
show-stopping appearance with platinum blonde waves, winged shadow, and a
bold red lip that matched her sizzling Brandon Maxwell gown.
To create the fierce look, makeup artist Sarah Tanno first used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel ($22; sephora.com)
to brush the star’s freshly bleached brows into place. Wanting to
achieve “a soft, velvety glow,” the pro then applied one of our favorite
products, Giorgio Armani's Maestro Fusion Foundation ($64; nordstrom.com),
for a flawless finish. To contour and highlight her complexion and keep
things looking smooth, Tanno turned to Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate
($80; nordstrom.com) before using Armani’s Fluid Sheer in #8 ($62; nordstrom.com) to add a pop of color to her cheeks.
“To get the Countess’s shaded winged eye, I used Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in #2 ($30; nordstrom.com) only on the outer half of the lash line and blended up into a wing shape,” Tanno tells InStyle. “I sculpted the inside of the eye with Bobbi Brown’s Eye Shadow in Taupe ($24; sephora.com).”
Next, to give off that classic, “old Hollywood” vibe, Tanno added drama
with faux lashes and some mascara, finishing off her eyes with a touch
of gloss at the center of the lid.
Finally, for that retro lip, Tanno swiped on MAC’s Lip Pencil in Cherry ($17; nordstrom.com) and Bésame’s Lipstick in Red Hot Red ($22; sephora.com).
