Man hit by bus on A6 in Stockport town centre


   
 A young man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Stockport.The pedestrian, who is in his twenties, was involved in a collision with a bus on Wellington Road South in the town centre at around 8.45am on Wednesday.Emergency services were called to the scene, outside the Merseyway Shopping centre, with the road remaining closed while they dealt with the incident.
The man is believed to have suffered head and leg injuries, with an ambulance coming to assess him before taking him to hospital.
The road has since re-opened, however the incident is said to have caused long delays in and around the town centre.
Congestion, normally busy at this time of day, is said to have built up as traffic was diverted down Exchange Street
