Seattle Sounders striker, Obafemi
Martins has now sealed a move with Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua after
ending a spell at his US based club in a deal said to be worth millions
of dollar.
His departure to China follows a fairly successful playing career at
Seattle Sounders where he scored 43 goals in 84 appearances. His new club is based in based in Kangqiao, Shanghai and are currently sixth in the Chinese Super League standings.
The striker will be looking at applying his prolific scoring skills to help the club rise above its current position.Martins has not really enjoyed a successful national team career in recent times.
The striker has been getting the cold shoulder in respect to national team call-up since the days of coach Samson Siasia. The situation was quite the same under ex super eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.
