Too bad!!! Man sets cousin ablaze for wooing fiancée in Niger

A man who wouldn’t share his woman’s love with another man, not even his family, has landed himself in trouble in Niger state.
45-year-old Baba Mohammed has been accused of setting his cousin, Usman Tetengi, ablaze for wooing his fiancée.

Police say he committed the crime on June 8, after Tetengi didn’t heed Mohammed’s several warnings that he stayed away from his lover.
Tetengi, whom Mohammed soaked with petrol while he slept under a tree on the fateful day, died from the burns he suffered.
Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Mohammed Abubakar Dan-Ina, confirmed that Mohammed confessed to the crime.
Mohammed, now in police custody, showed no remorse for his actions. He said Tetengi was hardheaded.

“I am not regretting my action because if I did not kill him at that particular time, he would have killed me, so let him go in his next world he will not join issues with me again,” he is quoted as saying.
“I am not married, I do not care where this case will get to, the most important thing was that I have closed his chapter and stopped him from troubling my life.
“There are other women in our community but he choose to be making advances to the woman I have proposed to marry. No, he has paid dearly to it, it suits him well.”
